Fall is a wonderful time in New England. Leaves are changing color, halloween decorations are starting to pop up and the smell of apple cider donuts are in the air. Last Sunday before setting out on touring properties with clients, I stopped by Wilson Farms in Lexington (Wilson Farm, Lexington, MA) to pick up freshly made apple cider and a few fresh donuts.
Before it gets too cold, now is the time to start thinking about getting your home ready for winter months. A short list includes
- Change the direction of your ceiling fan to create an upward draft that redistributes warm air form the ceiling.
- Drain all garden hoses and faucets
- Drain water sprinkler system
- Don’t forget to fertilize and aerate lawn
- Once all the leaves have fallen clean out our gutters
- Check the condition of your roof
- Do you do yearly maintenance on your heat/ac system,? You should and be consistent by selecting spring or fall and schedule your annual maintenance appointment
Time for some fall fun. The Boston Calendar rounds up all the events in a nice easily read format Calendar Events Near You.
